Wanna know how a wii remote thrown at a tv ends? November 12, 2009

Something like that.

My sister is in town with her husband and her friend and while I was at work on Tuesday, the decided to play the Wii.  Well I never play the wii and apparently Josh took off the straps of the wii remotes because they get in the way, so when Jill and her friend were bowling, the wii remote slipped out of her hand and went straight for the tv. To say the least, I came home and her friend was balling hysterically and I’m pretty proud of myself for being so calm and collected (when inside I was screaming “Are you kidding me?!?!”).  So it sucks for us because our big screen is shot (what you’re seeing is what happens when you turn the tv on) and it sucks for her because she just met me and broke my tv, she is buying us a new tv which means she’s going to be out of a lot of money, and this all happens while she is on vacation.  Bummer all around.

See? MUCH MUCH MUCH better! Plus, we painted the vanity and got new knobs so now it looks like a brand new vanity! And since the toilet paper roll was on the side of the vanity and was at an awkward place (so most of the time the toilet paper was sitting on the sink….not cool), I got a standing toilet paper roll instead. See….

Now all we have to do is our bathroom and my birthday present from Josh is complete! Ahhhh, I’m so happy!

Birthdays November 3, 2009

Happy Birthday to my first born son.   Diesel turned 1 on Halloween! So we had a mini puppy party for him (complete with Transformers party hats! Ok, so that wasn’t my goal, but I couldn’t find any solid color party hats at Walmart!) For a cake I made him a plate of peanut butter with his name on it (we’re in a recession people!) on top of that, he got  his 4th duck (which lasted all of one single day to get completely destroyed) and he was a very spoiled pup. Happy Birthday Diesel Man!!

My birthday was yesterday. I called in sick saying that I thought I had food poisoning.  When I told all my friends and Josh that, they all told me that pregnant women who think they have food poisoning usually have to go to the hospital or something so that was probably a bad thing to call in for.  Oh well. Cassie and Nikki took me out to a long (2 1/2 hours!) lunch at my favorite place…Bread Co! Then Cassie and I went up to the mall and got some prego pants (not too sure of them right now) and then we headed home.  Shelly and my dad took me and Josh out to dinner to my other favorite place, Red Lobster and we had an ok time.  Ok, to tell you the truth, my dad and Shelly were driving me insane the whole time, but I’m just going to blame it on the hormones right now, because in all honesty, I love them and I love that they took me out on my birthday.  So anywho, that was that and I had an awesomely great birthday!

 

It’s official…I’ve lost my mind. October 30, 2009

Yesterday as I was getting ready to leave for work, I couldn’t find my keys anywhere. Usually I keep them in my car that’s parked in the garage, but since my garage has been turned into a construction zone because of my new bathroom floors, I’m forced to park in the driveway. Very quickly I looked over the entire house and then decided to just take my spare keys and look for my originals later. The only problem with that is that my office key is on my original set of keys and I am the first one to get to the office. Luckily for me, I was not the first one in the office yesterday and I was able to get in without waiting.  So when I got home from work yesterday, I tore my entire house apart. I looked in the most ridiculous places like the freezer, the fridge, all cabinets and drawers, Diesel’s kennel, I searched my entire front and back yard (FYI, Diesel is afraid of our stairs and seeing that we have a split level house, the only way to get him upstairs is to take him from the basement, through the garage and lead him to the backyard and then let him in the back door…ridiculous I know.) and then I got desperate and even searched through my trash that was all ready to go for the trashman for this morning. Yes, I went through trash.  Actually, I was going through the trash in the garage when Josh came home and all he said was, “Are you seriously going through the trash?” I was desperate!  Still no keys.  So then Josh starts to look through the entire house with me, making sure I didn’t overlook anything.  While he’s looking through all of the cabinets, drawers and pockets, I decided to go look in my car one more time (just in case I dropped them).  As I opened the front door of my house, I was like “oh my gosh, it’s a monsoon out here!” And as soon as I said that, the front door opened completely and there they were. My keys.  Dangling from the front door as if I had just unlocked and came in. But this was not the case. I unlocked the front door the night before trying to coax Diesel to come up half of the stairs (hey it’s worth a try, sometimes it works) and while I’m coaxing him, I guess I forgot to take my keys out of the front door and put them where they belong…in my purse! So that’s my “losing my mind” story.  Ridiculous!

 

Speaking of purse, Lori (Whitty Creations…check out her blog at whittycreations.blogspot.com) made me a new fall/winter purse and I must say…it’s adorable. I think everyone should get their own Whitty Creations original! Here it is:

16 Weeks, 2 weeks anticipation and bathroom floors! October 23, 2009

It’s amazing that I am already 16 weeks pregnant. We went to the doctor this morning and got to hear the strong heartbeat my little bean has.  I kind of love how hands on my doctor is because as he was feeling around my abdomen, he invited Josh over to feel where my uterus was…and Josh thought it was pretty cool too. It’s a learning experience for all of us so I just really appreciate that my doctor gets Josh as involved as he can.  Anywho, the baby’s doing well and we were able to schedule our next ultrasound.  This will be my 2nd ultrasound so when an actual image of a baby comes up on the screen (instead of the lima bean I saw last time), I will most certainly cry.  Also, the next ultrasound we will get to find out what we’re having…oh and to check out the heart and other vital organs to make sure they are developing at the right pace.  So this appointment is in 2 1/2 weeks.  I’m pretty sure these next 2 1/2 weeks are going to be the slowest weeks OF MY LIFE!!! I can’t stand the anticipation and I just want to know what we’re having. I don’t care what we’re having, but I just don’t like not knowing! I don’t understand people who don’t find out and think it’s fun. I can’t even sleep just thinking about it! lol.  So 2 1/2 weeks and we will know if we are going to have a boy or a girl…..eeeeeeeeeeeee!  Luckily, the next 2 weeks are going to be busy with birthdays and visitors so I’m hoping that makes the time go by really fast! At least I  hope so!

 

On another note.  My house is completely filled with dust and debris right now.  I wanted new bathroom floors (for the hall bathroom and our bedroom bathroom) for my birthday, so Josh and Ryan started on this project last night. We’re starting with the hallway bathroom because I want that one at least finished before Jill comes in town on November 9th.  Last night they ripped it out and laid the backing down and either tonight or tomorrow they are laying the ceramic tile down. Ryan laid it out to make sure I would like it and let me just tell you, it’s going to look awesome! I’m also going to paint the outdated vanity that is in there (we’ll have to replace the beige and gold sink a different time) so hopefully this will make a huge difference.  I just can’t wait! I’ve started taking pictures of the process so once it’s finished…I’ll share

Updates October 12, 2009

I feel like I never have the time to just stop and actually post what is going on with my life. So if I leave you with just “updates”….I’m sorry!

 

1. A few weeks ago my nice, dependable, wonderful car died on me at a friends house.  We couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it and to be safe, Josh was going to drive it back and forth to work since he worked closer to home than I do.  On one of the mornings he was driving to work he wrecked my ever so precious car.  Luckily, I never saw the damage because I’m sure I would have just cried like a baby!  Josh could have sworn Jane (aka, my car) was going to be totaled, but it turns out that she has really good mileage and therefore, not totaled. So I pick up my car from the autobody shop (pretty much looking like I had seen her before, except a little more shiny) and I get inside to drive it home and it is COVERED in tea. Oh, and there is a moldy glass of tea in the cup holder! Apparently, Josh brought a cup of tea to work before the accident and when he got in the accident, tea went flying EVERYWHERE! When I mean everywhere, I mean every little tiny crevice you could think of. The CD that was in my CD player is covered in dried up tea. Oh poor Jane!  When we got it back from the body shop, it was driving just fine, that is until Friday. A huge thank you to Amy for hanging around for me after work, because my car was definitely trying to die right before I got into the ghetto outside of my garage at work. I called Josh and he sped up to save me and of course, it didn’t act up at all. So moral of the story is, I’m getting a new car. Of course I can’t find anything right now, but it needs to be soon before I get stranded somewhere and there is no one to save me!

 

2. I forgot to mention, no one was hurt in the accident.

 

3. I’m getting new bathroom floors for my birthday. I still have to go check out different stores because I’m not 100% sure on what I want, but I’m excited. I’ll be more excited when it gets done.

 

4. Josh and Ryan hung up a new ceiling fan in my kitchen which now gives off tremendous light. The funny part was that it almost took them 2 hours to do this. Oh it was quite funny.

 

5. I’m slowly buying new shirts that I feel comfortable in because things are getting snug. Still loving the bella band and I haven’t had to buy maternity pants just yet.

 

6. My 2 pregnant friends just found out what they’re having and it’s driving me crazy not knowing. So far, I’ve had a dream about what sex our child is about every night. Usually it’s a girl, but sometimes it comes out a boy, so who knows! lol.

 

7. I just found out that my sister and her husband and friend are coming up to visit in November. I’m excited to see them and spend some much needed quality time together.

 

8. I hate that it’s already cold outside, but I do love the smells. The smell of cold air smells really good and I love burning fall scents at my house. Plus the smell of baking and chimneys all make the cold weather a little worth it.

Life’s been a little chaotic September 28, 2009

My new job is quite the challange…..but I’m still new so I’m sure I will be getting to it sometime soon. I have a lot of strange things thrown my way that I am supposed to figure out in the drop of the hat, but hey…who doesn’t like a nice challange?

I am now 12 weeks prego and we are both doing great. Friday we heard the heartbeat and the doc said it was a good, strong one…so I’m happy. Just can’t wait to see the little bean again because the next time I see it…it will actually look like a human and not a bean! Then what am I gonna call it?! 

I had dreams last night that it was a boy and apparently in my dream, I didn’t want a boy, which is very strange because in all  honesty…I will be happy as ever with a healthy baby…whatever it is.  So that was a strange one.  Clothes are starting to fit snug (and with the help from a bella band, I can untuck and unbutton my pants and no one will know! The best invention EVER!!!) and apparently my boobs are getting huge (thanks Hanna!!!), but so far, still no sickness so I’m content.

We dog sat another lab last week…his name is Buddy. Buddy is about 4 years old and a bit smaller than Diesel is and he did so well at our house. He got beat up a bit by Diesel because Diesel is still a puppy and he wants to play all the time, but Buddy played with him and then chilled out and Diesel was fine with it. It was strange because if we would put the dogs outside or even outside our bedroom, they wouldn’t wrestle or play at all. It’s like they could only play when they were being watched by us…very strange. When Buddy left, Diesel spent a couple days moping around and whining, but he’s fine now.  He just loves other dogs!

I finally finished my 2008 scrapbook this weekend. I fell out of the loop on the scrapbooking just because I feel like I don’t have any time to do it. It takes so much time to set up and so much time to clean up that I don’t ever really want to start. But Lori had a scrapbooking party and I went and thanks to her party, I was able to finish my book….FINALLY. I don’t even want to start thinking about starting a 2009 one quite yet!

This coming weekend we are going to go apple/pumpkin picking and I can’t wait. We’re going to bake all sorts of apple goodies. This is about the only thing I love about fall/winter time. The festivities. I love going to Eckerts and picking apples and pumpkins and then going home to bake. If it weren’t for fun stuff like that, I would be totally devestated when summer was over!

Tuesday night date September 16, 2009

So I was supposed to cook last night but couldn’t get jalepeno poppers off the brain, so we had jalepeno poppers for dinner last night. I know it’s not the healthiest thing I could eat…but man were they good! I ate a box and a half on my own! Just thinking about it makes me want some more right now!

Josh and I decided to go see a movie last night. Who cares if it was a Tuesday?!  It seems like we’ve both been extremely busy lately, so when the both of us were home, we decided to take advantage of it and go on a date. We went and saw Final Destination 4 (I think that’s what they’re up to now) in 3D. Definitely not the best FD movie, but it was still good and of course there was an open ending so there probably will be an FD 5….and I will probably go see it as well!

After the movie we went and got sno cones. It was a date night that was well needed and fun

Sweet Memories September 11, 2009

Last night my dad came over and we cooked together. I’ve never cooked with my dad, I usually just let him be the one in the kitchen or I take over but never before have we shared the kitchen space. I was unsure on how to make Chorizo and egg (it’s a spicy breakfast sausage…oh and it’s AMAZING!), so I invited the pops over for dinner and we made it together. It was a great bonding moment for the both of us and I loved it.

On another note, the job front is going pretty good. I’m doing A LOT of learning and I have more to come when the doctor I’m going to be working for comes back in town in 2 weeks. Once I find my comfort zone, I think this will be great.

As far as my prego-ness goes…I’m feeling extremely good. I”m still tired ALL THE TIME, but (knock on wood) I’ve never gotten sick and my queeziness feelings have pretty much gone away. Except when some choice words are said and then it makes me queezy right away. Josh knows what those words are and he kind of thinks it’s funny. Some days I could just kill him!! But he’s been awesome about everything, so I think I might just keep him around!

Went to the doctor for the first time on Friday and met the little bean in person and saw a very healthy heartbeat (enough to make you wanna cry..because you KNOW I cried! haha). We should be expecting a little one on April 8th. Keep  us in your thoughts and prayers
